NORDEUS EQUIPS LABORATORIES AT THE FACULTY OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING WITH 80 LATEST COMPUTERS AND MONITORS FOR NEW GENERATIONS OF IT PROFESSIONALS

On the occasion of the eighteenth anniversary of the Software Engineering course and the admission of a new generation of students, Nordeus equipped the laboratories at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, with the newest computers and monitors which will help advance the practical work and training of new generations.

In order to further support the education and on the occasion of this important milestone, Nordeus, a mobile gaming company from Belgrade, donated eighty computers and monitors to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade. The equipment will be available to all students interested in research and learning in the field of software engineering as part of both curricular and extracurricular activities. 

The collaboration of Nordeus and ETF started in 2010 by providing scholarships to the best students of Software Engineering and continued in 2014 with the donation of 42 computers and monitors to the Faculty. That same year they opened a special laboratory for computer graphics and a virtual reality worth 30.000 EUR.

“As a graduate engineer of the Computer Engineering Department of ETF, it is a great honor for me to support the further development of engineering talent in Serbia. More than ninety percent of the engineers at Nordeus are local talent, and most of them come from ETF. We are strongly motivated to continue supporting the further development of both the nineteenth generation of students of the Department of Software Engineering and all future graduates. This is just one of the ways we plan to invest in education in Serbia. We are looking forward to the continuation of successful cooperation with the faculty, the opportunities that students get in this way for practical work and development, as well as our opportunity to support that development with industry knowledge,” said Branko Milutinović, director of Nordeus and co-founder of the Nordeus Foundation, at the welcome ceremony for the generation of 2022/2023. of Software Engineering students.

“The Faculty of Electrical Engineering has always been an institution recognized both in Serbia and around the world for the quality of engineers it has. This is especially important today when Serbia has the opportunity to become the Silicon Valley of Southeast Europe. Information technologies are the fastest growing branch of the economy – it is believed that the number of IT experts in Serbia has increased by several tens of thousands in the last three years. and the estimate is that there is a demand for at least another 200 thousand experts, including highly educated staff.

Cooperation between Serbian IT companies and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering is necessary in order to adequately monitor changes in this extremely dynamic field. Former students, who are now the leaders of the IT industry in Serbia, are happy to give suggestions on how to further improve study plans and programs, and become active as lecturers – experts from the economy, as part of practical courses. We would like to thank the company Nordeus, which has been a partner and a friend of the Faculty for many years, which supported Software Engineering students with its scholarships and helped to further improve the quality of practical teaching through the professional lectures of their engineers, and with the latest donation of computer equipment for three laboratories, significantly improved the conditions for new generations of software engineers.” – added the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Belgrade, Professor Dejan Gvozdić.

In addition to supporting young talent through programs at the faculties and within the community, Nordeus established the Nordeus Foundation last year with an initial budget of 3 million dollars with the aim of helping children and young people acquire modern skills and knowledge by supporting education and developing a stimulating and creative environment.

About the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering (ETF) in Belgrade, founded in 1948, is the largest faculty in Serbia and the region in the field of electrical engineering and computing, dedicated to respecting the highest standards in teaching, science, and applied research. With more than 23 thousand graduated engineers since the establishment of the faculty and currently around 5000 active students in 4 accredited programs. ETF represents a large base of successful and valuable personnel for the needs of the domestic economy and the ICT sector. Podrška obrazovanju se nastavlja – Nordeus opremio laboratorije na ETF-u sa 80 najnovijih računara i monitora za nove generacije IT stručnjaka

Povodom osamnaest godina postojanja smera Softversko inženjerstvo i prijema nove generacije studenata, Nordeus je opremio laboratorije na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu Univerziteta u Beogradu najnovijim računarima i opremom koja unapređuje praktičan rad i usavršavanje novih generacija studenata.

 

U cilju podrške obrazovanju i povodom ovog značajnog jubileja, Nordeus, mobilna gejming kompanija iz Beograda, donirao je osamdeset računara i monitora Elektrotehničkom fakultetu Univerziteta u Beogradu. Oprema će biti na na raspolaganju studentima zainteresovanim za istraživanje i usavršavanje u oblasti softverskog inženjerstva u sklopu nastavnih i vannastavnih aktivnosti.  

Saradnja kompanije Nordeus i Elektrotehničkog fakulteta započeta je još  2010. godine stipendiranjem najboljih studenata Softverskog inženjerstva, a 2014. je opremljena i prva laboratorija sa četrdeset i dva računara i monitora. Iste godine, zajedno su otvorili i specijalnu laboratoriju za računarsku grafiku i virtuelnu realnost, ulaganjem u opremu u vrednosti od 30.000 evra. 

“Kao diplomiranom inženjeru Odseka Računarske tehnike ETF-a, izuzetna mi je čast da podržimo dalji razvoj inženjerskog talenta u Srbiji. Više od devedeset procenata inženjera u Nordeusu predstavlja lokalni talenat,  a većina njih su upravo sa ETF-a. Snažno smo motivisani da nastavimo da podržavamo dalji razvoj  kako i devetnaeste generacije studenata Odseka za Softversko inženjerstvo tako i svih budućih diplomaca.  Ovo je samo jedan od načina na koji planiramo da ulažemo u obrazovanje u Srbiji. Radujemo se nastavku uspešne saradnje sa fakultetom, mogućnostima koje studenti na ovaj način dobijaju za praktičan rad i razvoj, kao i našoj prilici da potpomognemo taj razvoj znanjem iz industrije, ” izjavio je Branko Milutinović,  direktor Nordeusa i suosnivač Nordeus fondacije, na svečanoj ceremoniji za doček generacije 2022/2023.  studenata Softverskog inženjerstva. 

“Elektrotehnički fakultet je oduvek bio institucija prepoznatljiva i u Srbiji i širom sveta po kvalitetnim i pouzdanim inženjerima koje školuje. To je posebno važno danas, kada Srbija ima priliku da postane Silicijumska dolina Jugoistočne Evrope. Informacione tehnologije su najbrže rastuća grana privrede – smatra se da je broj IT stručnjaka u poslednje tri godine u Srbiji povećan za nekoliko desetina hiljada, a procena je da postoji potražnja privrede za najmanje još 200 hiljada stručnjaka, pre svih visokoobrazovanog kadra.

Saradnja između srpskih IT kompanija i Elektrotehničkog fakulteta neophodna je da bismo na adekvatan način pratili promene u ovoj izuzetno dinamičnoj oblasti. Bivši đaci, koji su sada nosioci IT industrije u Srbiji, rado daju sugestije kako da dalje unapredimo planove i programe studija, i aktiviraju se kao predavači – eksperti iz privrede, u okviru praktične nastave. Zahvaljujemo se kompaniji Nordeus koja je svih prethodnih godina bila partner i prijatelj Fakulteta, koja je svojim stipendijama podržavala studente Softverskog inženjerstva i kroz stručna predavanja njihovih inženjera pomagala da se dodatno podigne kvalitet praktične nastave, a najnovijom donacijom računarske opreme za tri laboratorije značajno unapredila uslove za rad novih generacija softverskih inženjera.” – dodao je dekan Elektrotehničkog fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu, profesor Dejan Gvozdić.

Pored pružanja podrške mladim talentima kroz programe na fakultetima i u sklopu zajednice, Nordeus je prošle godine osnovao Nordeus fondaciju sa početnim budžetom od 3 miliona dolara sa ciljem da pomogne deci i mladima da steknu savremene veštine i znanja kroz podršku obrazovanju i razvoj podsticajnog i kreativnog okruženja.

O Elektrotehničkom fakultetu u Beogradu

Elektrotehnički fakultet (ETF) u Beogradu osnovan 1948.
