What would my career look like if I joined Nordeus? What would my onboarding experience be like?

If these are the questions you’re asking yourself, keep reading!

What is Nordeus Talent Philosophy?

Before we dive into your Nordeus journey, let’s get to know each other.

Our HR Team and managers work closely to help our games grow while making sure our people are given the right opportunities for their development which consequently impacts the business. Everyone at Nordeus is a key player in creating engaging experiences for our players, and our mission is to enable our people to do so.

Simple as that- the bigger the impact we make as a team, the more opportunities for everyone at Nordeus to grow but also more chances for us to welcome new teammates, such as yourself. 🙂

We are on a mission to enable life-changing careers for everyone at Nordeus. To make that happen, we need people! Luckily, we have a full house of them passionate about making an impact accompanied by a desire to stretch themselves and take on bigger challenges. This makes our job easier as we’re always finding creative ways to make your career grow- from mentoring, learning sessions, and challenging projects, to completely changing the discipline you work in – anything is possible!

First step: Onboarding

Your career journey at Nordeus starts with onboarding, and we take it seriously. We understand that a great start is crucial for an amazing journey so when you join Nordeus, you will go through the New Employee Onboarding (NEO) Sessions. This will help you understand better what Nordeus is about, why we exist, and how we work together. You will learn more about our games, team, and culture from Nordeus founders, game leads, and many more. But this is just the beginning!

Here are some of the key people you will have in your circle in the first few months:

  • Your manager: creates your onboarding plan, onboards you into the team, role, provides expectations, and supports you on your overall career journey.
  • Your mentor: onboards you to the craft, giving you all the information and training needed to succeed.
  • Your buddy: gives you insights into the culture and people of Nordeus.
  • HR partner: is there for all practical things regarding our benefits and how things work, providing career support and guidance to you and your manager.
  • Workplace operations: from IT support to your physical workspace – we want to make your start hassle-free.
  • Everyone at Nordeus: we’re all here to welcome you and make you feel part of the team from Day 1. Just ask the people whose first day at Nordeus was during Nordeus’ yearly team building. 🙂

From here on out: your career

Your manager and HR Partner work together to support your career every step of the way. Let’s take a look at what the journey looks like.

Regular 1:1 Meetings

Your development is an ongoing conversation, not just an annual or biannual event. Keeping up a good and constant conversation is the foundation of all the performance and development work we do.

You will have regular meetings with your manager. Although there are no strict rules around the agenda, or frequency of these meetings, they serve as a dedicated space to discuss progress, share any challenges, and receive guidance. It’s up to team members and the manager to agree on what that looks like for them!

Career Discussions and Development Plans

Did you know that 20% of people at Nordeus have been at the company for more than 10 years? One of the reasons for this is that we do not leave your career up to chance. In-depth career discussions where you get to explore both your short and long-term career aspirations are a must!

Here you and your manager create your roadmap to success – a customized development plan that outlines concrete goals and the next steps to achieve them.

Tools we use – anything is possible

Whether you’re aiming for leadership roles, seeking to deepen your expertise in your current field, or exploring new career avenues within the company, we are here to guide you on your career journey, but YOU have the freedom and ownership to initiate that development yourself!

Interested in some specific course or training? Or maybe you would like to have a mentor? Or maybe even changing a discipline? Hey, why not all of it? For us, personalization is the key! We believe the best practices are the ones created for you and your career in mind. One-size-fits-all programs are not for us!

Career switches are not a foreign concept to us, User Researcher to Game Designer, Data Scientist to Product Manager, Talent Acquisition Specialist to Community Manager, and so many others. If you’re eager to apply your knowledge in a different discipline and it aligns with the team’s needs, we’ll be there to support you along the way and provide the means for you to explore it.

The best part – we have a full house of super-talented people coming from all over the world to learn from and a bunch of cool projects you can work on.

Biannual Talent Reviews

To round the whole story, twice a year we organize the thorough Talent review process (aka Calibrations as we call them) with the main purpose of celebrating your achievements, and helping you navigate further your career path with confidence and clarity by providing you with valuable insights into your work. These reviews are not just a formality; they’re a critical part of our talent management strategy that’s aligned with organizational goals.

Each review incorporates self-reflection, 360 peer feedback, and manager feedback giving you a well-rounded view of your performance from team members at all levels. This holistic feedback approach works best for us and our culture. In this way, you receive diverse perspectives empowering you to understand your strengths and areas for improvement.

In short, our talent philosophy is to foster a personalized approach and create an environment where our people can excel in their careers and make a huge impact on our games.

Are you in? We’re always hiring. Check out our open roles and let’s create engaging experiences for our players. 🚀
