We seek a Senior Data Engineer who will architect and implement data pipelines and models essential for making data-informed decisions across Nordeus. In this role, you'll collaborate with top experts, work with rich datasets, and leverage cutting-edge technology, while seeing the direct impact of your work on products and players alike.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Design and build a self-service analytics platform, giving game teams the power of data to improve player experience
- Partner with game teams, data scientists, ML experts and marketing experts to understand data needs
- Design, build and deploy our event ingestion pipeline that ingests billions of events every day
- Implement scalable and fault-tolerant data pipelines for moving and transforming data
- Create an MLOps framework that enables our data scientists to efficiently and independently build and deploy new ML models
- Design and implement a robust and scalable data lake leveraging proven methodologies for optimal performance
- Design data models for efficient data storage and rapid retrieval
- Manage the secure and efficient sourcing of external data from a diverse partner network
- Drive optimisation, testing and tooling to improve data quality
- Optimise existing pipelines and maintain all game-agnostic related data pipelines.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience with Python or other modern programming languages
- 5+ years of experience with SQL and relational databases experience
- 5+ years of experience with custom ETL design, implementation and maintenance
- 2+ years of experience with workflow orchestrators (i.e. Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, Astronomer, Google Cloud Composer, AWS Step Functions, Azure Data Factory, or similar)
- 2+ years of experience with Data Modeling
- Experience working with a cloud or on-premises Big Data platform (i.e. Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, Azure Data Warehouse, SnowFlake, Teradata, or similar)
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with excellent communication skills
BONUS POINTS:
- Experience with public cloud providers GCP/ AWS/ Azure
- Experience querying petabyte-sized datasets using BigQuery, Trino, Hive, Impala, etc.
- Experience with multiple coding languages
- Experience designing and implementing real-time pipelines
- Experience with data quality and validations
- Experience with SQL performance tuning
- Experience with anomaly/outlier detection
- Experience with Airflow
