Are you interested in developing a Big-Data platform that guides the direction of products enjoyed by millions of players daily? We are seeking a leader for our Data Engineering team to collaborate with Product, Data Science, Marketing, and Engineering on making data-informed decisions across the company. In this role, you'll collaborate with top experts, work with rich datasets, and leverage cutting-edge technology—while seeing the direct impact of your work on products and players alike.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Lead a team of high-performing Data Engineers, ensuring their well-being, fostering individual growth and designing the team to scale
- Drive the vision of our Big-Data platform (Data Warehouse, BI tools and ML Ops), and define and execute a plan to achieve that vision
- Develop strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders in Data Science, Business Analysis, User Acquisition, Product, and Engineering to gain a deep understanding of data needs and effectively address them
- Identify the processes that will drive operational excellence in all areas, including project management and system reliability
- Drive the design, building, and launching of new data pipelines and data models in production.
- Drive data quality initiatives across our products and related business areas
- Have a deep technical context around the work your team is working on, and be prepared to dive in deep if necessary
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Track record of successfully leading engineering teams and working as an Engineering Manager for at least 3 years
- At least 5 years of experience in backend development and/or data engineering
- Genuine passion for the Big-Data space
- Product mindset in technical service development
- Experience in career management, covering the full employee lifecycle
- Great communication, feedback and mentoring skills
- T-shaped individual, with a wide understanding of different tools, technologies and best practices as well as the confidence to tackle complex projects with different approaches
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
BONUS:
- Experience in building large-scale data pipelines
- Experience in building BI tools
- Experience in working with ML Ops
- Knowledge of technologies like Airflow, BigQuery, Kafka, Hive, Presto, VertexAI, Google Cloud or other cloud providers.
