An SRE team is the backbone that applies cutting-edge practices and innovative solutions to keep the game infrastructure running smoothly, ensuring that millions of players enjoy a seamless, uninterrupted experience, even during peak times. To put simply, SRE incorporates elements of both Software Backend Engineering and DevOps practices.
That being said, our SRE team is seeking for a Junior Site Reliability Engineer to help us on that mission.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Develop our infrastructure platform and tools which empower our teams to deliver reliable backend services
- Develop and evolve our observability platform
- Improve and optimize code of our distributed backend services to increase their availability, reliability and scalability
- Work tightly with backend engineers to improve the whole lifecycle of services from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement
- Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve the systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
- Containerize our workload and migrate it to Kubernetes
- Troubleshoot complex distributed systems problems
- Proactively identify production bottlenecks and help formulate solutions
- Offer a fresh perspective and question why things are done in a certain way
- Act like an Owner for parts of our infrastructure platform
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Good understanding of software design principles, object-oriented programming, patterns, algorithms and data structures
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- Solid coding skills in Java, C#, Python, or similar languages and relational databases
- Passion for building backend platform tools and automation
- Passion to debug, optimize code, and improve backend applications
- Extracurricular projects
- Fast learner with natural curiosity (T-shaped mindset)
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with excellent communication skills
- Team player

- Familiarity with Linux/ Bash scripting
- Familiarity with Cloud providers GCP/ AWS/ Azure
- Familiarity with Docker/ containers
